Finance Reporting Group Manager, SVP
The Global Process & Stakeholder Management Team (GPSM) is a strategic function within Finance & Risk Shared Services (FRSS), a division in Citi Shared Services. FRSS provides support to Controllers, FP&A, Risk, and Treasury including accounting, closing, ledger, reconciliation, substantiation, and reporting activities (Financial Books & Records).
The GPSM function within FRSS is responsible for partnering with the Global Process Owners in Finance to transform the end-to-end Global Operating Model for all Financial Books and Records processes, platforms, and results. The team is singularly responsible for design and implementation of end-to-end processes owned and performed by the FRSS Reporting Operations teams located in the 4 FRSS centers, ensuring the processes performed in the centers are standardized, efficient, and designed with appropriate controls. The team is responsible for capacity planning, definition of KPIs and metrics to drive transformation and productivity, and for location strategy. In addition, the team is the primary interface with global stakeholders including Global Process Owners, Corporate Reporting, Citi Controller, Chief Data Office, Data Services and Global Technology.
The GPSM Reporting US Regulatory & RWA Lead is a senior level position responsible for accomplishing results through a strategic partnership with the Reporting Operations teams. As a senior position within the GPSM Reporting team, the Regulatory and RWA Lead will report to the Transformation Lead. In this capacity the role will be a leadership position in the GPSM Reporting team and will be responsible for design, development and execution of critical strategy initiatives and programs, projects, and transformation efforts with stakeholders in Finance, FRSS Operations and GPSM organizations with focused on US Regulatory and Risk Weighted Asset (RWA) Reporting Operations.
This role will also be part of the team responsible for ensuring that appropriate end to end design and development initiatives with Regulatory Reporting and RWA functions are aligned with the ongoing Consent Order programs and most importantly aligned to the strategic Finance Target Operating Model objectives.
Responsibilities:
Lead efforts to design, develop and drive Reporting Operations transformation and Regulatory remediation objectives by identification of initiatives and programs whose outcomes will drive simplifying processes, optimizing platforms, and identifying opportunities to improve data quality work with Reporting Operations leads in all 4 FRSS centers.
Partner with key stakeholders across Citi Finance (Capital Planning Corporate Reporting, GPO, and Technology) driving reporting work streams, goals, and efficiency targets.
Partner with Finance and other key stakeholders to define and align solutions for Finance Transformation/ Consent Order and Business Simplification opportunities and link those efforts to the Operational processes within FRSS Reporting teams.
Develop and/or enhance key metrics to measure adherence, operational and organizational effectiveness.
Design and drive operational excellence through end to end understanding of reporting functions, and controls excellence through standardization, reviews, and execution.
Ensure Reporting Operations adherence to relevant policies, standards and procedural guides pertaining to our Financial Books & Records and Regulatory requirements specifically for Regulatory and Risk Weighted Asset (RWA) Reporting teams.
Escalate potential issues identified in working group sessions
Responsible for reviewing and execution of updated project plans and key milestones related to project completion
Identify process improvement efforts and coordinate and streamline control activities across business and functional lines resulting from changes in operation model in alignment with overall transformation objectives.
Responsible for participating in the production of updated operational procedures and control documentation for reporting functions.
Understand and evaluate the implications of the changes proposed by Consent Order working group and communicate the impact of same to Reporting Operations supporting US Regulatory and RWA reporting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
Transformation or Risk & Control redesign experience
Strong background in US Regulatory or Risk Weighted Asset (RWA) Reporting Operations, or other related disciplines or areas of Finance
Experience and Expertise leading and delivering with Ledger process, standardization, data, controls, and governance is desirable
10+ years of relevant experience in Accounting, Finance, or business-related fields in Financial Services
Previous Supervisory experience required
Proven skills in leadership, strategic planning, project management and organizational structure
Experience in managing projects and professionals across business lines
Clear and concise communication (written, verbal) skills
Experience with process reengineering / process improvement, design and implementation of accounting and closing processes
Ability to identify problems and take appropriate actions to resolve issues
Global awareness and global business orientation
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
