The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager is responsible for the analysis, forecasting, business case development, ad-hoc financial modeling, and supporting strategic planning activities. This role collaborates with business leaders and executives to measure performance, analyze “what if” scenarios, and prepare budgets and forecasts. The FP&A Manager supports the CFO and other business leaders in special projects and M&A activities. The individual in this role will serve as Finance Business Partner for subset of IT leaders and is responsible for developing and maintaining reports for their areas of responsibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide financial analysis, support and insight to the corporation and business leaders.
Monitor, project, and report on cash flow and other working capital balances.
Support new business models and ventures through financial modeling prior to and during execution, through post-mortem reviews of actual results versus expectations.
Leverage technology to improve finance effectiveness and efficiency.
Financial Support and Insight:
Develop and implement processes using data from a variety of areas to provide ongoing, concise, and useful reports and analysis of KPI’s, trends, and financial results.
Perform analysis of month-end, quarter-end, year-end results including analysis of P&L, working capital, and underlying metrics.
Coordinate and develop package for the Board of Directors, including specific financial reports and analyses.
Work with subset of corporate functions as Finance Business Partner
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes for corporate functions, working closely with functional business partners to ensure accountability and alignment.
Coordinate with Finance Leaders on consolidation of budgets and forecasts.
Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual analyses of working capital.
Publish approved budgets and forecasts for income statements, cash flow, and other working capital.
Strategy & Market:
Monitor relevant market data and analyze results for benefit of internal learnings, communicating results to Business and Finance Leaders.
Perform ad-hoc analysis and financial modeling to support business partners, management, and others as needed to enable data-based decision-making.
Upon request, support Business Development activities from a financial perspective to include deal modeling and supporting due diligence and contract negotiations.
Provide support for pro-forma financial feasibility analysis and business case development related to new ventures.
Develop and prepare financial reporting to analyze results and perform post-mortem reviews of deals and business models.
Support the Company’s strategic planning process by actively participating in strategy meetings, gathering and presenting market data, and continually monitoring and updating the various plans.

Education and Experience:
Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of four years of diverse and progressively responsible experience in finance with a focus on financial modeling and analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Book publishing, Education, Media and/or Retail experience a plus.
Experience with web-based planning and reporting software required.
Experience working in matrix-based organizations.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.
