Marketing Data Analyst
HYBRID ROLE: Austin, TX or Carlsbad, TX
PAY: $34-45
JOB OVERVIEW
We are searching for an entrepreneurial Marketing Data Analyst with strong analytical skills and a desire to grow our emerging digital business by making clear & convincing business cases through data exploration, modeling, and experimentation. This will play a crucial role in supporting our digital marketing & growth strategy initially focused on driving efficient customer acquisition, channel diversification, and spend portfolio optimization.
This role will evaluate the effectiveness of current and prospective marketing channels within our portfolio, provide data-driven insights, and make recommendations for efficiently driving active customer growth across our brands. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to establish foundational capabilities for a category-leading brand and strong business that is still early in its digital evolution.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Measure and report on the effectiveness (LTV/CAC, volume, ROAS, etc.) of our paid media channels, highlighting critical areas of risk and opportunity for our portfolio
Apply data modeling skills to solve for optimal channel mix, marketing spends allocation, attribution, etc.
Lead analytics projects (deep dives and ad hoc analysis) to identify actionable insights, uncover areas of optimization and growth to drive new customer acquisition, and reactivate existing customers
Use SQL, Excel, third-party analytics tools, and scripting languages to mine, access, and analyze data
Visualize and synthesize your analytics work appropriately for audiences across the spectrum (executives, marketers, etc.)
Work closely with business owners to utilize our available data to design/develop tools, dashboards, and other technical solutions to scale our capabilities as we grow
Partner with Data Engineering to ensure that our data architecture supports the marketing and eCommerce organization’s analytics needs
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Highly intellectually curious with regards to both the business and the data
Driven to generate direct business impact through actionable insights and creative problem-solving utilizing data
Using Excel to uncover and summarize findings for quick turnaround ad hoc requests
Strong fluency with SQL and data transformation
Preferred: Experience with common scripting languages for analytics (Python, Julia, R)
Preferred: Predictive data modeling & statistical analysis experience optimizing marketing budget spend allocation
Preferred: Effective presentation & communication skills using Word or Powerpoint
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in related fields, including Economics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, etc.
Minimum 3 years experience in online marketing and/or digital analytics, preferred in-house
