Job Description
The Manager of Research Finance & Administration is responsible for overseeing the Dept of Surgery’s research financial portfolio. This includes (but is not limited to), financial reporting, financial reconciliations, payroll cost allocations, full funds management – philanthropy, grant awards (both pre/post), indirect, subcontracts, etc. for the all-research investigators in the Department of Surgery. This position will also serve as the key financial liaison between Lurie Children’s Hospital and Northwestern’s Institute for Public Health and Medicine (IPHAM).
This role is paramount to enable accurate financial reporting to funding agencies regarding time/effort, efficient and accurate funds flow (fiscal accountability), and enable a better partnership with Northwestern University. This position will also assist other members of the Finance team to coordinate the financial close of each month, to ensure that grant information is recorded and stewarded properly, and all financial reports are reconciled. The Manager will also assist the Director of Business Operations and Analytics with financial planning, budgeting, fund management and overall financial operations.
