The Treasury Manager (Commodities and FX) will be responsible for partnering with The Coca-Cola Company’s various global operating units, subsidiaries and company-owned bottler franchises in developing strategies and execution for the company’s commodity risk exposures across agriculture, energy, plastics, and metals, among other potential markets. Further, the Treasury Manager will assist these respective constituents in managing their foreign currency exchange rate (FX) exposure related to non-functional currency expenditures for commodities / other needs. This role serves as a subject matter expert on commodity markets, global economics, and foreign currency outlooks. This person will focus on identifying the company’s commodity and related FX exposures, and develop strategies for risk mitigation within the company’s policy and framework approach.

The Corporate Treasury Department is a dynamic and fast-paced organization. As such, the ideal candidate will have a passionate interest in the financial markets, and an inherent curiosity and capability to statistically measure, e.g., using tools for regression analysis, cash-flow-at-risk, etc., and analyze how activities in commodities, foreign currency, economic and/or political environments impact both the broader financial markets and The Coca-Cola Company’s exposures within them.
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities:
Act as a strategic partner to the business (e.g., relevant operating units, subsidiaries, and company-owned bottler franchises) to help derive a commodity risk management strategy for COGS, including ingredients, packaging, distribution expenditures, as well as related FX impact where applicable.
Develop, present and execute approved commodity derivative and FX hedging strategies with the company’s counterparties across various financial instruments, including: commodity swaps, options, futures, as well as FX forwards and option strategies.
Monitor and analyze economic and financial market information to determine potential impacts on commodity and foreign currency markets to present to internal constituents.
Partner with domestic/global procurement to stay abreast of evolving commodity exposures and potential instruments / strategies for risk mitigation.
Work across the treasury and accounting functions to ensure proper confirmation, settlement, and mark-to-market of financial transactions.
Ensure proper internal controls are in place and adhered to for all trading activity.
Maintain financial transactions in the company’s treasury management system (Reval), and continually optimize processes, internal controls, and reporting for FX transactions and commodities.
Cross-train for the ability to manage other FX transactions for the company’s various cash / other exposures..
Assist corporate finance groups with monthly financial reporting requirements for commodity and FX activity.
Participate in special projects to support the long-term strategy of the Treasury Department.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, or related field is preferred.
CTP, or CFA a plus but not required.
Related Work Experience:
This role requires an individual who can quickly gain expertise in commodity and foreign exchange exposures, markets, and financial instruments to function successfully. A minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant treasury/finance roles is preferred.
Functional Skills:
Knowledge of commodity and FX markets, and related financial instruments.
Understanding of macroeconomics, financial principles, and business statistics/analysis.
Solid MS Excel skills with an emphasis on quantitative analysis. Power BI and Python knowledge or willingness to learn will be important.
Bloomberg terminal experience helpful.
