Job Description:
The Investment Analyst III supports senior investment office staff with investment analysis, manager due diligence, asset class research, and other operations/project work. The position has broad exposure to the workings of an institutional investment office and all asset classes including equities, fixed income, and alternatives including private equity, private credit, and hedge funds. Finance or related degree with three years of directly related experience in an endowment/foundation or related environment. Position
Summary:
Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis on investment mandates and perform portfolio attribution/ factor analysis, portfolio risk decomposition and sector exposure over time to produce manager and portfolio level attribution reports.
Monitor, analyze, and evaluate the existing managers in the investment portfolios through mandate specific investment guidelines, compliance reviews, and SEC Form ADV reviews
Research, prepare, and write research pieces (with senior team member guidance) on key areas of portfolio diligence, important market trends, and other topics critical to the management of the portfolios
Extensive data gathering and analyses for private investments, portfolio liquidity and exposures, fees, benchmark comparisons (including peers), and related compliance work
Prepare monthly and quarterly performance reporting ensuring compliance with industry standards, to provide constituents with relevant, accurate and consistent information for investment oversight
Prepare quantitative and qualitative analyses of prospective managers
Prepare the monthly portfolio re-balancing analyses and implementation schedules for multiple investment portfolios. Monitor the re-balancing trades and analyze the re-balancing ranges.
Provide back-up support for treasury and endowment operations such as capital calls, distributions, and incentive fees.
Prepare special analysis, ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with three years of directly related experience. Bachelor’s degree should be finance, accounting, business, economics or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The experience should be in an endowment, foundation, pension plan, or family office environment.
Strong background in investment analysis, portfolio analysis, and performance measurement methodologies within GIPS framework, including Modified Dietz, geometric and arithmetic returns, time-weighted returns, and IRR.
Working knowledge of Zephyr/PSN, Evest, Wilshire Compass or other portfolio optimization software
Exceptional analytical, quantitative skills, and ability to synthesize large amounts of data and summarize complex sets of financial information.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deliver results within deadlines.
Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
