The North America Service Business organization includes product, engineering, ad sales, marketing, partnerships, and supporting functions.
The Strategy & Planning group within the NASB team is looking for a Senior Manager of Competitive Intelligence to provide critical market insights around CTV / digital advertising and media industries to inform strategic direction for the business.
This role will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and maintenance of competitive market analysis in relation to Samsung’s media platform and Ads business.
This role will require finding creative ways to source market data that may not be available widely. The Senior Manager of Competitive Intelligence will work with executive leadership across the organization to identify and track key trends, competitors, and opportunities to provide in-depth insight into the competitive market regarding pricing, product, financial, and strategy.
This role will support cross-divisional objectives with tailored competitive insights and discoveries.The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, analytical, and solutions-focused, with the ability to unravel complexity, navigate the organization, and come to a quick understanding of the needs of the business.
The position will require a strong background in research and analysis, with a highly responsive mindset, excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to drive close collaboration with all areas of the business.
The Senior Manager of Competitive Intelligence must be a self-starter and will need be comfortable working under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment.
Role and ResponsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITIES : Research, develop, and own the program for competitive market analysis on the Samsung media platform and Ads business;
handling the gathering, analyzing, and disseminating of competitive intelligence across the organizationDevelop market surveillance by continuously researching, collecting, and analyzing industry trends and marketplace information from industry publications, public filings, internal intelligence, and other sourcesCollaborate with team members and divisional partners in a data gathering capacity to retrieve, structure and cleanse internal and external data for competitive analysisProfile key competitors including, but not limited to business strategies, services, technology, practices, and brand messagingConduct ad hoc data retrieval and analysis in support of line of business initiativesDeliver timely overviews on new insights, trends, considerations, and opportunities to formulate recommendations for lines of business growth and profit initiatives such as rate changesWork with vendors to develop and maintain competitive databases and informationBuild and maintain relationships with key collaborators in the industryTurn insights into executable strategies that improve financial resultsProvide strategic guidance into product visions & roadmap, GTM strategy, marketing strategy, content, and moreStay up-to-date on the latest trends in competitive intelligence and analyticsAdopt standard methodologies across the industry to continuously improve internal processesSkills and QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS : BA / BS required, MBA or other relevant advanced degrees preferred10+ years of experience in industry research, product marketing, management consulting, or competitive intelligenceDeep knowledge and familiarity of CTV / digital media, ad tech, and new media trendsAbility to deal with ambiguity, solve complex problems, and navigate large, global organizationsExceptional organizational and time management abilitiesEffective communication and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated, assertive, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in analytics software and toolsMastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are a must* Please visit Samsung membership to see Privacy Policy, which defaults according to your location.
