Job Summary* : The Post Award Grant Specialist 1 provides overall award administration and financial-based analytic services to faculty and staff engaged in the conduct of sponsored research which may include basic, translational, and/or clinical. The individual who holds this position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values in accordance with Rush policies and procedures Job Responsibilities:* + Provides support services including award set up, hiring, budgeting, spending, reporting, and closeout. + Facilitates post-award requirements in accordance with RUMC and sponsor regulations by working closely with other members of the ORA (SPA division), fund accounting, and information services staff.
+ Ensures timely and accurate post-award accounting of grants and contracts, review and reconciliation of accounts for compliance of charges, proper handling of financial transactions, and approval of transactions within designated limits. + Reviews expenditures for allow ability, allocability, reasonableness, and compliance with RUMC, sponsor, government policies, and regulations. + Coordinates no-cost extensions and carryover requests and documentation for awards.
+ Reviews contracts and other award documents to determine budget, invoicing schedule, restrictions, and other pertinent information. + Assists with the creation and ongoing maintenance of Rush departmental operating budgets. + Facilitates effort reporting and certification, cost reconciliation, and cost transfer efforts to support accurate accounting and compliance with government regulations.
+ Reviews and manages sub-award agreements to ensure sub-award recipients and costs are accurately monitored and in compliance with sponsor terms and government regulations. + Monitors sub-award and research expenditures to enforce RUMC contracts or terms and support proper research conduct including ensuring on-time invoicing. + Maintains various databases, record keeping systems, and all applicable project files to ensure program records are up to date.
+ Reviews and assists in the preparation of detailed cost and financial analysis, forecasts and projections reflecting interrelationships of sponsored award data, and provides financial tracking and fiscal control. + Assists with data gathering, initial analysis, and interpretation for fiscal research information. + Other duties as assigned Required Job Qualifications:* + Bachelor¡¦s degree required.
+ 1-3 years of administrative experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. + Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. + Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
+ Excellent attention to detail, strong project management skills, and the ability to meet deadline. + Position requires professionalism, diplomacy, a high degree of judgment, initiative, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. + Ability to work on a team.
