Description
We’re seeking an experienced Director of Finance who can oversee and manage the fiscal health of our organization, harnessing necessary systems, processes, and resources. The role involves managing the budget, investments, financial projection and analysis, purchasing, capital expenditure, payables and receivables as well as financial and tax reporting. They will also oversee facilities management. Their leadership will guide executives, providing reports and financial advice to the Board of Directors and other committees.
Collaborate with the CEO and staff to formulate strategic and annual plans, and intermittent financial forecasts.
Achieve budget goals and modify project restrictions whilst maintaining financial analysis.
Assist managers in budget creation and control.
Develop grant proposal budgets and prepare interim and final grant reports.
Supervise the processing and other administration duties to ensure retirement, salary and benefits are effectively implemented.
Timely and efficiently manage accounts payable and receivable.
Oversee all AR/AP cycles with external partners, including the implementation of accounting and billing systems.
Ensure timely reconciliation, recording and publishing of routine bank statements, company credit cards, and 990s.
Guarantee administrative functions operate efficiently within budget parameters.
Have a thorough understanding of the legal requirements of accounting principles, ensuring regulatory compliance, and reducing legal risks.
Facilitate auditors for on-time and accurate audit completion.
Regularly audit expenditures, assets, and liabilities.
Collect financial data for analysis and prediction considering profits, trends, cost, and compliance.
Manage the preparation of regular financial statements.
Assist the CEO in corporate finance activities, including venture capital fundraising.
Provide guidance and strategic direction to the Finance Committee as needed.
Handle the organization’s insurance coverage, ensuring compliance.
Analyze trends and metrics to aid in the formulation of strategies, programs, and policies.
Seek and maintain non-profit excellence certifications.
Requirements

Proficiency in time management as well as being client-focused and results-oriented.
Strong work ethics and critical thinking abilities.
Must be capable of managing numerous tasks and prioritizing effectively.
Proficient reconciliation and analytical skills.
Excellent command of Excel and ability to appropriately manage data and spreadsheets.
Remarkable writing skills with ability to rapidly respond under pressure.
Experience working with volunteers and a Board.
Ability to resolve problems and provide strategic direction.
Should be able to lead and motivate groups or individuals.
Ability to listen, negotiate effectively and foster harmonious relations.
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
Min. of 10 years accounting experience
Knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures.
Able to handle complex situations, balancing competing priorities, and meeting tight deadlines.
