OneMain Financial Looking for Vice President/Senior Managing Director Of Product Architecture at Baltimore, Maryland Full Time

OneMain Financial (OMF) is seeking a Vice President, Senior Managing Director (SMD) of Product Architecture to lead our ongoing technology transformation. The SMD is hands-on with current cloud technology, worked in the financial services industry, and experienced in organizational transformations. The SMD is responsible for defining and implementing the technology vision for the OMF suite of products. OMF’s core product scope includes customer experience, financial model development, decisioning and delivery; loan servicing, marketing and customer acquisition. Core horizontal capabilities include data modeling and management, channel communication, cloud infrastructure, continuous integration/delivery, internal and third-party integration, security/data privacy and compliance. The SMD provides leadership, direction and cohesion to the teams implementing our evolving product architecture.

This role is HYBRID. You should be located within a committable distance to one of our offices located in Baltimore MD, Wilmington DE. Candidates outside the posting area will not be considered without a cover letter indicating your willingness to relocate.

Responsibilities And Duties:

• Establish the Product Architecture objectives and key results (OKRs). Work with senior leadership to align OKRs to business roadmaps and corresponding OKRs.
• Collaborate with technology and line-of-business leadership to define and evolve a strategic business/technology vision.
• Define and optimize a strategic target-state business/technology architecture which affords the flexibility for rapid evolution and scale-out.
• Lead a small team of Principle Engineers which are Embedded in key technology areas to both drive and support architecturally effective solutions.
• Develop target-state architecture into tactical milestones for implementation and migration.
• Efficiently execute the milestone plan by building strong cross-team ties to parallelize the work while maintaining and advancing a coherent technology vision.
• Be the focal point for architecture design for bespoke and differentiating services.
• Participate in technology assessment and selection for packages/underlying services for horizontal and commodity capabilities.
• Lead technical evaluation, technology prototypes and trade-off studies to determine best solutions.
• Leverage current trends in open source and commercial cloud-native services to best future-proof implementations.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills and leadership. Develop strong technical credibility to influence across the organization.
• Represent OMF within the financial services and technology industries to stay connected to advances and to position OMF’s capabilities and opportunities.

Qualifications And Experience:

• Experience in data-driven software product delivery organizations, which both deliver and run customer-facing products in operations, with demonstrated progressive leadership growth in all aspects of product, platform, and systems designs and implementations.
• The candidate should currently have an active hand in architecture and solution design, and be current with the portfolio of modern, cloud-native services and tools.
• 10+ years leading systems design and modernization at division level in Financial Services or other heavily regulated industry information technology organization.
• 5+ years leading enterprise-level technology strategy
• 15+ years with deep hands-on development experience. The following specific experiences are highly desirable:
• Amazon Web Services leveraged for high-scale consumer product delivery
• Business analytics, data warehouse and reporting technologies
• Machine learning model development, production readiness, and production delivery
• Continuous integration/continuous delivery
• Data modeling, full lifecycle data management, and data-driven processing
• Information security and privacy compliance, controls and supporting techniques
• Significant experience building and operating cloud-based Big Data, analytic, and decisioning platforms.
• 15+ years leading small, high-performing technical assets which drive technology transformation.
• 10+ years working with SCRUM/Agile/iterative methods.
• 10+ years of experience leading employee/contractor blended organizations.
• 10+ years of experience selecting and negotiating 3rd party products and services.
• 5+ years of experience leading an on-prem to cloud-based technology organization transformation.
• 5+ years of AWS experience in a mature, leading cloud-first organization.
• Bachelors Degree computer science, hard sciences, or engineering is preferred, Masters degree is desirable or equivalent professional experience for either degree.
• Demonstrated equivalent expertise can be considered.
• Experience delivering strategic presentations to top business leadership, as well as public speaking experience as a technology domain leader.
• Architecture, design, and implementation experience supporting both enterprise on-prem-to-cloud migration and cloud-native product development, including SaaS, IaaS, PaaS.
• Supported organizations with multiple lines of business, with systems and products that have both vertical and cross-cutting business aspects.
• Extensive knowledge and demonstrated track record working with operations, infrastructure, and cyber organizations and teams, in designing products and platforms for operational monitoring, reliability and maintainability.
