Undergraduate degree with emphasis in Human Resources, Organizational Development or similar field
5 years of experience in Human Resources
DEAI experience preferred such as implementing best practices
Diversity & Inclusion Certification preferred
Construction industry knowledge preferred
Proficiency in Spanish and English preferred
Duties and Responsibilities:
Partners with company leadership to design and execute an overarching DEAI strategy for the company; crafting relevant goals, policies and programs that promote a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Establish metrics and collaborate with leadership throughout to measure success.
Make recommendations and serve as a key advisor as it relates to diversity, equity and inclusion practices.
Develops and/or acquires training and development to aid diversity and retention initiatives.
Collaborates with Director of Human Resources to develop departmental goals, objectives, and systems to align with company strategic goals.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, diversity, equity and inclusion, and employment law; applies this knowledge to recommend changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
Monitors and ensures the organizations compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Reviews current practices and policies, assessing and analyzing the extent to which they support or hinder the company’s diversity goals.
Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
Prepares for new employee onboarding and participates in the organization and execution of new hire orientations.
Manages employee benefits including program development, renewals, and claim resolution.
Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures and revises as necessary.
Executes compensation and position changes in a timely fashion as directed by department leaders and senior managers.
Directs and conducts off-boarding activities including exit interviews.
Support and scale Juneau’s employee resource groups.
Organize and maintain Juneau’s DEAI Advisory Council.
