What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for a highly motivated School Nutrition Leadership Manager to join our Training, Leadership Development and Program Content Team. Reporting to the Director of School Nutrition Leadership, this manager will lead curriculum implementation and training for our AmeriCorps service members across 8 states. This position will be responsible for managing virtual and in-person delivery of seven competencies in school nutrition that will aid service members in supporting their local communities. Supporting our partners in providing nourishing school meals is an integral part of our strategy and requires experience and understanding of federal school nutrition programs. The School Nutrition Leadership Manager will also support our BIMPOC (Black, Indigenous, Multiracial People of Color) School Nutrition Leadership Network which provides professional and leadership development, and mentorship opportunities; therefore, a lived experience of this community will thrive in this emergent area of work.
This full-time, remote position can be based anywhere in the United States, with travel to attend trainings or visit our programs in the field.
Who You Are:
You are passionate about the impact that nourishing meals in schools can have on our nation’s youth. You have experience in administering federal school nutrition programs with an emphasis on innovative practices around procurement, menu development, and program promotion. You have a comprehensive view of the crucial connection between the school cafeteria and the classroom. You are highly organized and able to implement projects and deliver trainings with an eye toward equity. You excel at building trusting relationships in professional settings. You are detail, process, and operationally oriented. You are an exceptionally clear and concise communicator and can easily translate information across multiple audiences and via multiple channels.
Primary Responsibilities
Implement and evaluate school nutrition leadership core competencies across pilot sites
Coordinate trainings (in-person and virtual) for school nutrition service member cohort including regional offerings
Work closely with the Evaluation team on program feasibility and steps needed to institutionalize the pilot program
Train and support internal staff on school nutrition-related direct service work
Maintain Google Classroom, Training Calendar & Catalog, and online training platforms for service members
Collaborate with Impact Program Management on updating program resources
Maintain a working understanding of trends, policies, and current standard processes in school foodservice
Partner with internal teams such as Marketing and Communications and Impact Programs on recruiting and promoting trainings and events
Design enriching cohort experiences for participants that build connectivity to one another and loyalty to FoodCorps communities
Collaborate and provide administrative support for the BIMPOC SNL (School Nutrition Leadership) Network
Support development of BIMPOC School Nutrition Leadership program materials
Qualifications/Skills:
demonstrated ability directly working in federal school nutrition programs including operations and policies, specifically an understanding of school food procurement, local and regional sourcing, menu development, and other areas of school nutrition administration
Effective project management skills, including in-person and remote team facilitation
Demonstrated experience implementing training programs to include measuring effectiveness and providing insight and ideas on improvement strategies
Relationship building and supporting others through sophisticated situations
Experience Facilitating virtual and in-person gatherings
Demonstrated commitment to integrating equity in work and beyond
Ability to be responsive and adaptable to changing needs
Creativity and ingenuity in planning events and gatherings for diverse audiences
Critical thinking with a strong ability to build efficient systems for information management
Comfortable with an organizational environment that is fast-paced with an emphasis on technology and collaboration among geographically distributed staff and partners

FoodCorps pays salaries that are competitive with nonprofits of our budget size and geographic location and offers generous vacation and medical benefits, 401(k) matching, professional development funds, and a sabbatical policy. This position is a manager-level role with a salary range of $70,000-80,000. This range may be adjusted for candidates based in one of our high cost of living regions.
