Position
Summary:
The Director of Finance has responsibility for overseeing the planning and execution of all financial activities at Dairy One.
Areas of accountability include strategic planning, budgeting, financial management, and leadership of the 4-member accounting team.
As part of the senior leadership team, the Director will participate in organizational strategic planning and assist in advising the team on making sound financial decisions for the cooperative.
Specific duties may include:
Overseeing daily activities and performing accounting work as needed Collaborating with department heads and managers on P&L’s, annual budgeting, and special projects Hiring, training, and coaching the accounting team Creating and updating standard operating procedures for all financial activities that adhere to GAAP standards and best practices Providing regular financial updates to management and the board of directors Engaging in long range financial planning and forecasting Success Factors:
This position will interact and collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders from across the organization.
An understanding of the Dairy One business operations, as well as the dairy and agricultural industry will be essential to success.
The successful candidate will demonstrate an aptitude for learning and integrating new material and doing so in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to communicate effectively and professionally, collaborate, and provide counsel are essential.
Please note that this is an on-site position.
Remote-only candidates will not be considered.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 8 years of corporate level accounting, and at least 3 years of experience leading a team.
Familiarity with standard industry software, banking and auditing processes and the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively across a variety industry, staff and customers is essential.
Preference will be given to CPA candidates and/or those with a background in the agricultural industry.
