Summary: Crescend Technologies is seeking a Senior Accountant to support our Defense Solutions Division in York, PA which designs and manufactures RF Amplifiers for Military Communications and Electronic Warfare applications. In this hands-on role you will be responsible for all accounting functions for this growing business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Summary: Crescend Technologies is seeking a Senior Accountant to support our Defense Solutions Division in York, PA which designs and manufactures RF Amplifiers for Military Communications and Electronic Warfare applications. In this hands-on role you will be responsible for all accounting functions for this growing business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Ensure General Ledger and subledger transaction amounts and allocation accuracy.
- Maintain account schedules and enter journal entries as needed.
- Complete GAAP compliant month-end and quarter-end close process and reporting.
- Prepare monthly Financial Statements with variances to budget.
- Gather data from all teams and prepare an annual Budget with monthly forecast updates.
- Prepare cash flow forecast and other management reports on a weekly basis.
- Oversee the Inventory Physical and Cycle Counts process and request research on various items – report final results.
- Ensure Internal Controls are being maintained.
- Calculate labor and burden rates used for product price decisions.
- Assist with annual audit preparations.
- Prepare and submit mandatory online annual local, state and federal Government reporting.
- Develop a deep understanding of the business drivers behind company performance.
- Identify and recommend changes to policies and procedures based on best practices and changes in our business as required.
- Maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of Epicor ERP and constantly seek to optimize processes.
- Supervise a staff accountant. Assign tasks, oversee work and provide backup when necessary.
Requirements:
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of manufacturing accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Epicor/Kinetic preferred) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to train, coach and motivate a team.
- Ability to work with little to no supervision.
- Familiarity with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) cost and pricing regulations a plus.
