Job Description: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our fast-growing Private Equity funded startup as a key member of the executive team. As the CFO, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and expertise to support our company’s growth and success in the competitive startup landscape. Responsibilities: Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy in alignment with our business objectives and long-term goals. Provide insights and recommendations to drive financial growth and operational efficiency. Financial Modeling and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making. Identify key financial drivers and create actionable insights for the executive team. Financial Reporting and Compliance: Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and regulatory filings. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards, maintaining a robust internal control environment. Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and financial resources to support daily operations and long-term growth plans. Implement efficient cash flow forecasting and cash management practices. Budgeting and Expense Management: Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to set financial targets and monitor performance against budget. Implement cost control measures and optimize expenditure efficiency. Risk Management: Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate potential exposures, safeguarding company assets. Financial Operations: Oversee financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury functions. Streamline financial processes and systems for scalability and efficiency. Team Leadership: Manage and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work culture. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to enhance their professional growth. Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with other departments to support strategic initiatives, partnerships, and business development efforts with a financial perspective. Fundraising and Investor Relations: Work closely with the CEO and executive team to lead fundraising efforts and maintain relationships with existing investors and potential funding partners. Prepare financial presentations and updates to communicate our financial performance and growth prospects, instilling confidence in our financial health and growth potential.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred). Proven track record as a CFO or senior finance executive in a PE-funded startup or high-growth environment. Strong understanding of venture capital funding, financial modeling, and investor relations. Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow management. Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and scenario planning. In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and reporting requirements. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and drive results.
