Technological Proficiency
Use Microsoft Office and other applications to maintain, track, analyze, present, and report data.
Operate a variety of office equipment including personal computer, photocopier, fax, scanner, and printer.
Efficiently use campus information system and Department of Education software to process federal funds.
Customer Service
Maintain collaborative working relationships with campus constituencies.
Provide timely and accurate responses to student inquiries and requests.
Assist students and prospective students during campus events.
Establish and maintain a positive and professional image of the department and the University.
Communicate in a polite and pleasant manner at all times.
Data Management
Analyze and resolve federal loan exceptions in the campus information system.
Analyze and resolve exceptions with the cohort default rate data.
Ensure proper flow of data within the campus information system and offer suggestions for improvement as appropriate.
Record and publish financial literacy data to the financial aid staff.
Communication
Record and communicate loan information to the appropriate staff in financial aid and the business office.
Provide supervisor with appropriate updates regarding issues, concerns, progress, and obstacles related to the achievement of goals.
Communicate effectively with faculty, staff and students as necessary.
Compliance/Policy
Maintain current knowledge of federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Ensure privacy of data and appropriate storage and disposal.
Maintain up to date manual of procedures.
Miscellaneous
Attend state association conferences as available.
Perform additional tasks as needed and/or requested.
Available to work outside normal business hours on occasion.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to organize and coordinate large workloads in a timely and effective manner.
Strong problem solving skills.
Strong documentation, research and resolution, data analysis, and multi-tasking skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently.
Proactive self-starter.
Preferred Qualifications
2 years of financial aid experience.
Experience at an institution of higher education.
Experience with Campus Nexus software.
