Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Systems, or Business and five years of experience in a large complex accounting environment with internal control, systems, and reporting responsibilities; including three years of supervisory experience; advanced degree or professional certification in systems or accounting is a preferred; or an equivalent combination of experience or training. Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); experience in managing multiple complex projects concurrently; experience with administrating accounts receivable function; and effective communication skills at all levels of a complex organization. Must have experience managing, implementing, and/or enhancing an integrated (ERP) system. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
Duties
Provide technical support to lead, coach, and mentor professional systems staff as an engaged, results-oriented member of the Accounting Department’s management team. Manage the operations of the County’s financial and related administrative systems. Responsibilities include planning and implementing the Accounting Department’s automation strategy to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services to County and School customers. Functions include managing the day-to-day operations for the financial systems; supervising staff; coordinating with Information Systems Technology to plan, test and implement new systems and upgrades to existing systems; analyzing, recommending, and implementing improved methods to meet the information needs of users. Perform other work as required.
