Position Overview:
Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Building Professionals clients, the Marketing and Communication Specialist will develop strategies and tactics to maximize overall marketing in support of our business development objectives, business projects, and program initiatives. Reports to COO.
You are looking to be a member of a highly qualified and dedicated team of business professionals. You are a very effective digital marketer who knows how to bring out the very best.
THE JOB
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
Communication
Manage social media channels including scheduling, editorial content, graphic design, posting, following influencers, and engaging with other organizations and individuals
Oversee and coordinate industry newsletters, publications, press releases.
Review, advise and project manage website maintenance, updates and revisions
Develop, edit and create email messaging, email blasts and industry contact.
Review and advise, create content or outlines for promotional video’s
Marketing
Manage and work with 3rd party graphic designers, marketing firms and other external vendors
Develop strategies for on promoting of education, membership, credentialing, and quality assurance
Increase brand awareness by participating in various local and national events, tradeshow, and conferences
Actively tracks construction projects in their early design stage to specify quality assurance and regularly updates a database where quality assurance is or could be specified
Develop, implement and manage customer retention strategies
Define and test processes for measuring the return on investment of various marketing strategies
Assist in yearly budget creation
Develop or oversee creation and maintenance of marketing tools and all collateral material
Manage and provide research and intelligence on customers and competitors.
Work with company clients to assist in their sales and marketing process and strategies
Prepare reports, statistics and recommendations on strategy and implementation
Maintain knowledge of marketplace and monitor changes of energy codes
Participate in committee meetings and liaison with committee members in regard to marketing initiatives
Willing to work on special projects, above and beyond the above scope of work, from time to time
BACKGROUND NEEDED
1. 7+ years’ experience in a marketing or communications position
2. A post-secondary education in communications, marketing, journalism, or business degree with a major in marketing
3. Association or non-profit experience (preferred, but not mandatory)
4. Superior verbal and written communication skills, including strong copywriting/editing experience and proofreading abilities – both corporate and creative
5. Experience developing communication strategies and executing tactical plans (including paid social media campaigns with demonstrated results)
6. Graphic design, image, photography, and mobile video-editing skills, with a good eye for quality design considered an asset
7. Well-developed presentation skills
8. Advanced Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, social media, website content skills
9. Highly effective project/time management skills, able to prioritize under pressure and independently manage multiple deadlines
10. Strong business acumen
11. Ability to work independently and in a team setting, with occasional evening and weekend work
12. Knowledge of:
i. SEO and SEM campaign tools (Google Adwords)
ii. Email marketing campaign software (Constant Contact, MailChimp, Nimble)
iii. Content management systems
iv. Social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube)
