Accounts include complex, multi-market, multi-channel retailers in the Americas including Ship Chandlers (Cruise Ships), UETA, 3Sixty, Transportation (Airlines) and others, as well as the US Military. These businesses include Airport D.F., Border Shops D.F., Ship Chandlers (Cruise Ships), and Military.
Commercial Support and Analytical Insight
Provide commercial support and analytical insights for the region regarding commercial decision making to analyze problem areas and help identify solutions.
Drive long-term strategic vision, managing the development and performance of 2025 strategic plans.
Provide tools to commercial teams to support their accounts. This includes financial support for key account/distribution agreements, pricing strategies, promotion strategies, customer profitability assessments, and competitive trends.
Prepare analysis for presentations for customer negotiations, performance reviews, and other strategic projects.
Work with Supply Chain for key accounts on sales forecasts and to manage and track inventories with key accounts.
Build relationships across the finance departments of key retail partners
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Analyze and communicate business performance for assigned accounts/markets on a monthly basis to Global Travel Retail management and commercial teams.
Provide meaningful analysis and commentary that drives insights on business performance. Types of analysis may include profitability analysis, margin enhancement, variance analysis, pricing effectiveness, cost management and measuring promotional effectiveness.
Manage budgets and spend tracking for A&P and Discounts.
Interpret and ensure accuracy of financial statements, working with the accounting team to develop accruals, JEs, pricing approvals and manage queries.
Financial Planning Function
Work with commercial, marketing, and finance teams to develop quarterly forecasts, annual targets and strategic long-term planning. Be able to understand and challenge key assumptions, and assess risks.
Act as a key liaison with commercial and finance teams for travel retail markets which roll up within Americas TR, Transportation, and Military.
Ensure accuracy of financial forecasts and be responsible for the integrity of data.
Other
Provide ad hoc support on special projects (by their nature it is difficult to define these projects as they will be driven by requirements that change).
Work with RGM Manager to review and implement RGM initiatives
Liase with Accounting function to ensure proper recording of JEs & accruals, and ensure books are kept in accordance with local & US GAAP. Collaborate with that team to ensure efficiency in processes.
What Exactly Are We Looking For?
Education: College/University (Bachelors or Equivalent); Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or
Certifications: CPA/Chartered Accountant
Experience: 7-10 years of relevant business experience
Strong financial analytic capability with a demonstrated ability to influence sound business decisions
Proactive self-starter with the intellectual curiosity to seek relevant questions to be answered
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills with ability to clearly discuss business issues and translate into financial and strategic implications and actionable plans
Team contributor who puts success of the team ahead of personal ambitions
Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with a broad range of business associates across multiple geographic locations
Ability to independently plan and prioritize multiple diverse work projects and work outside of normal work hours to meet deadlines and manage time zone differences
Demonstrated ability and knowledge of various software packages, particularly Microsoft Excel, SAP, BW, Google, etc
Familiar in working with foreign currencies, exchange rates and conversion factors
Knowledge in tax issues and international accounting rules (US GAAP)
Ability to travel, approximately 10% – 15%
Fluency in English language
