The role you’ll contribute:
The Finance Manager interacts with Vice Presidents and department directors to provide relevant, accurate, and timely information. Coordinates the deployment of strategic information. Identifies financial improvement opportunities within the organization including revenue, cost, efficiency and productivity. Trains and develops staff with the appropriate financial experience and skills to prepare them for future leadership roles. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans and executes procedures and processes to accomplish goals within time established for one or more of the following:
a. Monthly financial close and reporting process
b. Daily and monthly labor reporting
c. Service Line reporting
d. Cost Allocation
e. Annual budget and Capital budget process
f. Strategic Information development
Manages the support and assistance in developing and communication actionable information at all levels of the organization including developing business plans and strategies with management.
Drives process improvement strategies in coordination with operational owner. Determines the financial outcomes in support of process and program initiatives.
Provides mentoring and coaching to staff. Helps staff to frame issues and apply analytical and critical thinking.
Effectively manages all aspects of projects in conjunction with Director and/or AVP. Ensures projects are completed on time by assisting staff in the development, review and completion while assisting with modifications when needed. Effectively communicates project status and issues with Director and/or AVP as needed.
Utilizes communication and presentation skills effectively both internally and externally.
Ensures documentation encompasses all processes and is current for all areas of responsibility.
Reviews and validates financial information, assumptions and methodology based on a thorough understanding of financial concepts, healthcare principles and Advent Health systems.
Perform other duties/project as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Ability to compile and analyze financial information on trended data for financial decision making.
Ability to work in a project-oriented environment with people of various backgrounds.
Computer skills including e-mail, work processing and spreadsheets.
Strong interpersonal and managerial skill.
Ability to work in a fast pace dynamic environment in meeting deadlines.
Ability to exercise objective independent judgment in developing financial recommendations for management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or finance-related field. Adequate accounting course work should include intermediate accounting and other upper level financial and accounting courses.
Minimum of four years experience in finance or related field.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Master’s degree
Minimum of two to four years experience in healthcare finance/accounting or related field
One to two years supervisory experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
