Description We are offering an opportunity for a Finance Manager in the education sector based in San Antonio, Texas. The role involves overseeing the organization’s finances and accounting, providing leadership to the finance department, and supervising the effectiveness of accounting and internal controls. This is a contract employment opportunity.
Oversee the management of the organization’s finances and accounting, including cash management, investment policy, systems integrity, risk management, and compliance.
Provide leadership and guidance to the finance department by presenting insightful and usable information to facilitate management’s decision-making.
Supervise and analyze the effectiveness of accounting and internal controls to protect the organization’s resources.
Assist in the planning, development, implementation, budgeting, maintenance, and support of all department functions.
Suggest and implement policies, standards, practices, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent operations and the protection of assets.
Assist in adhering to the strategic plan and the associated financial plans and budgets.
Present financial plans and reports to support executive leadership in decision-making and planning.
Manage the accounting function using various techniques to produce accurate and timely data to monitor the institution’s financial position.
Work closely with the President and Finance Committee Chair to provide information needed to aid the board’s review and analysis of the organization’s financial health.
Oversee payroll and employee benefits administration.
Supervise, mentor, evaluate, and develop assigned associates to ensure a well-functioning department that supports the organization. Requirements – Minimum of 7 years of experience in a finance role within the education industry
Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
Demonstrated experience with CapEx
In-depth understanding of Accounting Functions
Experience with Budget Processes
Demonstrated knowledge of Compliance within the education sector
Proven skills in Budget Management
Experience in Budget monitoring
Familiarity with Full Cycle Accounting
Experience in Payroll Management
Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP)
