Human Resources Assistant – Gastonia, NC
American & Efird (A&E), one of the world’s foremost manufacturers and distributors of industrial sewing thread, embroidery thread and technical textiles, is seeking high energy candidates for a Human Resources Assistant at its distribution facility in Gastonia, NC.  The HR Assistant reports to the Human Resources Manager and works as part of a team to support employees and ensure the operation is properly staffed to achieve its production goals.Â
Position Overview
The HR Assistant works to support all areas of human resources including recruiting, employee relations, maintaining HR records, benefit administration, training & development, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
Job Responsibilities
  Provide friendly, helpful services to employees and managers, and represent the company in a positive way to employees and outside visitors
  Assist in maintaining recruitment database by entering and updating all information pertaining to candidates and applicants
  Assist in selecting resumes/applicants to be screened/scheduled for interviews
  Prepare internal job postings to ensure all existing employees have the necessary information to apply for open positions
  Complete on-boarding documentation for new hires, and follow up for information as needed
  Create, maintain and update HR files, enter information into the HRIS database and audit electronic information to ensure accuracy of data
  Maintain and file confidential records
  Create and maintain reports and documents as requested
  Handle administrative requests from HR staff
  Schedule and coordinate meetings to include set-up, communications and meeting logistics
  Support and administer company policies and procedures consistently
  Ensure good housekeeping in all areas of the facility including manufacturing, distribution, and office areas
  Meet or exceed all performance and productivity standards
  Promote a safe and healthy work environment on all company property to achieve the best working conditions for all employees and visitors
  Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies and procedures
  Perform other assignments as requested or as business needs require Qualifications
  Associate†s degree or equivalent, relevant work experience
  Minimum 2 years of administrative experience assisting in Human Resources and/or Talent Acquisition or Recruiting function
  Excellent analytical, time management and organizational skills
  Ability to assess and screen candidates and provide strong administrative support
  Knowledge of HR laws and regulations, and experience handling confidential information
  Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  Experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution positions strongly preferred
  Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  Demonstrated ability to establish effective and cooperative working relationships built on trust
  Ability to manage a wide range of relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  Successfully complete drug and background screenings
