Job Description:
Job Summary: The Product Manager’s primary responsibility is to ensure the growth, competitiveness, and profitability of their product line(s). A deep understanding of current and emerging trends in the marketplace, an understanding around the positioning of our products, the competitive landscape, and our customer’s needs are all critical to the success of the Product Manager role. The Product Manager plays a key role in the innovation process and provides leadership and guidance in the maintenance and modernization of their respective product lines.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create a focused strategy that drives the development of profitable, repeatable, best-in-class products.
Works closely with clients to understand market requirements and translates those market requirements into well-defined technical and commercial guidelines for our product development, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
Provide leadership in engineering to keep focus on establishing and reinforcing a “market-driven”, “product first” approach.
Provide technical and commercial guidance for the successful application of their product line(s)
Participates in the applications reviews for complex or strategic opportunities and helps makes “go/no-go” decisions on whether to pursue projects outside of the current standard range and/or capabilities of their product lines.
Works with commercial and operational leaders, ensures that pricing strategies are consistent with divisional objectives and competitive realities.
Responsible for promoting product line revenue and gross margin goals.
Develop and deliver product training as appropriate.
Works closely with divisional and platform marketing team in the development of Product Marketing collateral (i.e. brochures, technical bulletins/spec sheets, PowerPoint presentations, social media campaigns, etc.)
Supports selling activities, as required (face to face, site visits, competitive intelligence, strategy development).
Lead Strategic Growth initiatives for your product line.
All other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or business discipline and/or 8 years related experience.
Ability to analyze & interpret data (market, sales, engineering, operations)
Excellent analytical skills
Good organization, planning, and scheduling abilities.
Effective verbal communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work with all departments and levels within the BWIS organization.
Ability to travel approximately 25-40% of year, as required.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience working with a sophisticated CRM system.
Packaging Industry experience

Office II
Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer
Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about occasionally
Lift, move or otherwise transfer items up to 30 lbs. occasionally
Occasional exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards
Travel by air or car, approximately 30%.
