Responsibilities:
Participate in developing strategic direction for the department/business unit; understand the organization and team vision.
Control resources and policy formulation in area of responsibility.
Communicate goals based on business objectives; assist staff in setting goals and performance measures.
Calibrate performance appraisals and overall performance of teams.
Participate in large cross-functional projects or may lead cross-functional projects.
Review/edit issue papers; escalate as appropriate prior to review by third party firms.
Manage approved budget and help determine how/where money is spent.
May be a process owner and will be responsible for ensuring work is performed in a control environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience
Ten years of accounting/finance experience including five years of supervisory/management experience
Strong people management skills
Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, to diverse audiences
Organizational and prioritization skills
Advanced computer skills in MS Office, Excel and financial business systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of assigned business area (e.g. investments, premiums, IFRS, Statutory Accounting)
Well versed in business case development
Understands more advanced concepts surrounding cost/benefit development and analytics.
Effectively communicates and coordinates with other functional areas to ensure operational plans are financially represented.
Past experience around transformation/transition initiatives and vendor management relationships.
Advanced technical skills; experience with ETL and visualization tools. Alteryx and Tableau.

Compensation:
The salary for this position generally ranges between $123,000-$150,000 . This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.
Bonus Eligibility:
This position is also typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at Company Discretion at a rate of 20% .
Working Environment:
Commuting Remote employees will need to report to a Company office location at times, but will perform their work primarily remotely.
