About the work
You will be the primary point of contact for our leadership team on critical finance and business questions related to ShiftKey’s near and long-term success. You will envision, coordinate, and execute Finance initiatives. You will solve multiple priorities (growth, efficiency, quality, to name a few) and consider various stakeholders (e.g., investors, customers). Each day at ShiftKey will bring you a new set of projects and challenges – we measure success by data-driven outcomes. This role is located at our home office in Dallas, TX. Given our massive growth, you will be expected to help build the processes that can help to scale the business to the next level.
In this role, you will:
Manage overall financial operations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with regulatory and funder requirements.
Develop a solid technical understanding of the P&L, financial systems, and accounting processes to serve as a subject matter expert to assist with training, drive process improvements, and develop new tools and analysis to enhance our understanding of the business.
Build out the Finance team to help drive and enable the company’s fast growth: anticipate needs, identify, hire, and develop the Finance team.
Work closely with the CEO and the leadership team to define corporate vision and strategy.
Bulletproof our reporting process to provide actionable insights to leadership across the organization in a timely manner.
Manage all aspects of cash flow by monitoring the in and out flows of capital (e.g., implement billing and expense tracking processes).
Remove blockers & solve problems, to find paths forward through ambiguity, operating a dynamic and rapidly growing business across multiple markets.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with leadership with monthly budget reviews and to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions.
Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company.
Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action.
Who you are (minimum essential requirements for the job):
Experience – you are an expert in all things Finance.In many cases we need you to help us think through and help build the processes around an effective Finance effort. You are able to identify and analyze an existing/potential problem and find suitable solutions for each situation. This means that you have at least 10-12 years of experience in this area.
Management – you have years of managing others and delegating tasks and managing effectively. While the team is small now, you’ll be expected to grow the team
Education – You have a Bachelor’s in Finance or Accounting. MBA or CPA preferred.

A data-driven mindset, strong business judgment, and proven ability to perform analysis, draw key insights, and form and execute a strategy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build sustainable relationships, manage a team, influence stakeholders, and inspire others.
A track record of building strong teams and leading/influencing others in a performance-driven culture. You are a credible teacher and coach, and lead with transparency and integrity.
A high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
A deep understanding of financial principles including US GAAP, best practices, and marketplace business levers/KPIs.
An excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
Proficiency in Microsoft office and financial systems and software.
