Job Description
The Premium Manager will service as a quality checkpoint to ensure policies and procedures are in place. The Premium Manger will oversee the planning of activities and processes within the department. The Premium Manager will report and assist the Director of Premiums.
Role and Responsibilities
Direct and oversee day to day of the Premiums department
Meet department objectives through collaboration and delegation
Train, coach and develop all premiums staff, including Premium Leads
Handle all personnel matters, including but not limited to annual performance reviews and corrective actions as needed
Approve employee timecards and manage Paid Time Off requests
Initiate Bank Wires and process transfers
Assist in closing Sales and Broker Grids
Assure requirements of all carriers are met with premium processing
Enforce company and departmental policies, methods, and principles
Produce reporting by monitoring and evaluating departmental data
Automate, streamline, and improve process workflow and quality to support current and future growth
Create and sustain fiscal records and other files to accurately document transactions
Other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent strongly preferred
5+ years’ experience in accounting and/or finance preferred
3+ years direct management experience preferred
Previous accounting or finance experience required with superior understanding of credit and debt processes as well as accounting principles and how to apply them
Experience working in the insurance industry and/or at a Carrier or Third-Party Administrator a plus
Must possess ability to make appropriate business judgments and decisions independently
Demonstrated ability to perform strategic thinking and planning
Ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organization and successfully balance multiple tasks and projects concurrently
Desire to learn entire business process and develop appropriate efficiencies and solutions
