Ventus Solutions, a rapidly growing and vibrant small company in the Washington DC area working in unique technology fields, is looking for an Accounting Assistant. Individuals who enjoy working with people and have a background in Finance or are eager to learn are welcome to apply. The position is part time with flexible schedule. In addition, the company will be transitioning to employee ownership and the assistant will participate in this unique experience. Individuals will principally work from home but occasional office work will be needed- we prefer candidates from Washington DC area although not required. This position is perfect for someone seeking significant growth in skills.
Responsibilities include Interacting with employees on processing bi-monthly timesheet submissions. Manage bank transactions for the growing small business. Additional tasks and details are outlined below:
- Process account payables
- Bank transactions
- Bank reconciliations
- Time sheet corrections
- Backup support for invoicing
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Prior office administration experience including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with utmost professionalism.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive and able to work independently from home and collaboratively in a team environment.
Desired Skills/Abilities
- Prior finance experience in an accounting role or similar position is preferred.
- Unanet invoicing
