Job Description
The Environmental Finance Group (the EF Group ) provides financing to developers / independent power producers ( IPPs ) of renewable energy and other clean infrastructure assets throughout the United States.
The Impact Capital Manager ( ICM ) for Environmental Finance will be responsible for developing the U.S. Bancorp Impact Finance ( USBIF ) EF Group’s efforts to :
70%) Execute on opportunities to lend and invest in projects qualifying as Impact Capital under its current business platform.
For purposes of this job, Impact Capital includes : (a) loans and investments made to firms that are owned or led by Black, Indigenous, and POC individuals, (b) loans and investments that support wealth creation in among Black, Indigenous, and POC individuals and communities, and (c) loans and investments that support environmental and energy justice in Black or POC communities by reducing emissions from the electric sector, providing clean energy, water, or other clean infrastructure, reducing energy costs in disadvantaged communities, and / or improving grid reliability in disadvantaged communities.
The ICM will build relationships to help lead US Bank’s climate finance efforts to increase participation from Black-led and POC-led developers.
10%) Support development of new programs and initiatives that will drive equitable access to capital and growth in Impact Capital lending and investing.
These programs and initiatives may involve expanding the EF Group’s products and services to Black-led, Indigenous-led, and POC-led IPPs and ensuring alignment among EF’s racial equity / equitable access to capital goals and USBIF supporting functions in strategic external partnership development
20%) Coordinate the EF Group’s Impact Capital efforts with broader efforts within USBIF and US Bank to advance racial equity and drive wealth creation among Black, Indigenous, and POC individuals and communities.
The ICM will work with USBIF impact measurement staff to provide guidance on appropriate metrics for the EF Group’s Impact Capital platform.
The ICM should be able to communicate roadblocks with internal stakeholders to problem solve and execute solutions to continue to execute on USBIF goals.
This role should also have an understanding of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work in the renewable energy, clean infrastructure, and / or banking industries with a specific focus on racial equity, equitable access to capital, and an equitable energy transition.
