Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide a full-range of finance and accounting support for the Divisions of GI, Trauma, and Endocrine Surgery (GITES) & Surgical Oncology. Responsibilities for this position include purchasing and procurement, reimbursements, general accounting, financial analysis and reporting, revenue cycle management, invoicing, and database management.
Serves as a key Finance Professional and resource for faculty and staff in the Division.
Assists the Business Services Manager with creating and maintaining spreadsheets, databases, dashboard reports and other analysis instruments for tracking monthly and quarterly reporting
Prepares material for periodic presentations regarding the financial state of the division and monthly reports for faculty and the Division.
Assists the Business Services Manager with reconciling accounts and charges for multiple financial systems, including University, CU Medicine and the CU Foundation.
Responsible for managing all faculty travel, preparing/submitting travel or non-travel expense reports in accordance with the University travel guidelines.
Assists with purchasing or payment through COR360, CU Marketplace, and via procurement card, in adherence with purchasing policy.
Responds to requests for information; researches financial data, and troubleshoots discrepancies and initiates journal entries (JEs), retroactive payroll transfers (PETs), funding distributions, or other corrective adjustments.
Compile, review and prepare financial information to assess whether revenues and expenses are on target to meet budget forecasts for the Division and individual faculty clinical income versus expenses.
Managing and tracking invoices for contracts and entering contracts in CLX.
Managing and tracking faculty CME annual spending and ensuring spending does not exceed the allotted amount.
Maintain current knowledge of CU policies and procedures for compliance enforcement and training.
Assists with developing and analyzing revenue cycle reports for all service lines.
Under direction of the Business Services Manager, investigates and corrects abnormal financial statement balances.
Performing other duties as assigned by the Business Services Manager, Division Administrator, or Division Chief.
Work Location:
Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of #4 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Entry:
Intermediate:
A bachelor’s degree in business administration, business, finance, accounting, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
1 years of relevant professional experience
Senior:
A bachelor’s degree in business administration, business, finance, accounting, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
2 years of relevant professional experience
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a business, academic, or a medical financial environment.
Data management experience includes documenting, tracking, compiling, and reporting.
Experience ad hoc troubleshooting, investigating discrepancies, researching transactions, and understanding financial data.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

The starting salary range ( or hiring range ) for this position has been established as
Entry: $43,944-$55,897
Intermediate: $47,821-$60,828
Senior: $51,699-$65,761
The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
