DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The position plays a financial guidance role interacting with other divisions of A&FS, ANR, campuswide departments and the medical center as well as with other UC campuses and the Office of the President.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Accountant V and Assistant Controller, the incumbent serves as a critical member of General Accounting. The incumbent must understand all of the attributes connected to the Chart of Accounts to ensure proper financial reporting at the local and consolidated UC level; assist in the preparation of components of the UC Davis financial statements, management discussion and analysis and notes including support for the disclosures; provide analytical and functional support for cash flow and financial statement forecasting, pull data as requested and reconcile to the ledger and financial statements, and special projects as assigned. Incumbent plays a campuswide financial guidance role by offering technical, advisory and interpretive support of accounting policies and procedures; and provides testing support of financial system changes/implementations.
