The Strategy Manager is a key player in designing and implementing UPS Capital’s digital strategy. They will work with the Business, Go-To-Market, New Product Innovation, Product, and other teams to build innovative solutions that enable our customers for a frictionless insurance and post purchase experience. This person will be a Swiss army knife, supporting initiatives such as market research, product roadmaps, customer and user interviews, financial modeling, business case development, pricing, organic growth strategy, inorganic growth strategy, partnerships, competitive analysis, and program management.

Responsibilities
Drives the strategic planning process for a designated business group. Analyzes market trends, global competitors and conducts scenario planning as input to strategic planning. Supports the department by running strategy meetings and preparing presentations for various audiences
Thrives in high-performance atmosphere. Use the agile method with voice of customer, strategy alignment, and knowledge of emerging issues/trends to make informed decisions
Acts as the prime subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders. Ensures alignment between stakeholders
Conducts scenario planning to help inform senior leaders on the range of strategic choices.
Monitors and tracks performance of recommendations/strategies and addresses any issues.
Acts as a trusted advisor to assigned business/group, and provides strategic input into business decisions
Design and execute the development of organic and inorganic growth strategies for the organization
Develops and builds presentations through powerful storytelling
Develops subject matter expertise on internal and external sources of information (e.g., customer data, market data, industry data, etc.) for analyses to provide information for decision making
Gains consensus from team members and other stakeholders on assumptions used in different analyses to ensure accuracy of analyses
Interpret business strategy and determine innovative solutions supporting strategy implementation
Identifies the key trends in each region/product to determine how they impact customers, industry, competitors, and UPS Capital
Consults with subject matter experts to develop a complete understanding of the relevant trends
Assists in the prioritization of key trends to better understand and clarify UPS Capital’s ability to reach growth targets
Develops a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analyses of key competitors to identify market advantages and disadvantages

Change Management Skills: Ability to deliver a comprehensive change management program – digital transformations can be challenging and experience with those challenges to support the path forward
Financial Fluency: Must understand financial projections and impacts to the business plan. Familiar with building and developing financial models to support strategic direction. Ability to build business cases
Conducts Competitive Analysis: Demonstrates a basic understanding of competitor’s tactics, product/service offerings, and strategies; translates competitor performance and actions into implications for UPS
Conducts Environmental Scanning: Maintains basic awareness of potential regulations that could impact product or segment; monitors emerging technologies, potential impact to the insurance, post purchase, and logistics space to serve customers
Develops Situational Assessments: Demonstrates familiarity with the UPS market planning process; assembles and interprets components of the situational assessment; describes the primary experience levers that customers value within area of responsibility; accurately defines the various lifecycle stages of a UPS customer or prospect (e.g., conversion, penetration, retention, win-back) and company strategies targeted to each stage
Project Management: Demonstrates understanding of implementation objectives, project plan, and one’s role within a project; participates in the implementation of a project; provides timely, thorough, and concise updates for area of responsibility; identifies areas of risk and properly communicates them to the project manager
Projects, Programs or Processes Design and Development: Defines general business requirements for projects and/or processes; modifies or adjusts existing designs; develops working models; describes the impact of not following design specifications
