Background & Purpose of the Job
This position manages strategic and executional excellence in brand PR and influencer marketing, including the development and implementation of innovative and best-in-class earned strategies and programs; maximizing impact and exposure to support business objectives and strengthen brand equity.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
Act as a resident expert / center of excellence for Public Relations, Influencer Marketing and Digital Engagement for the company by delivering on the following:
Set highest standards for excellence for earned media within the organization and with external agencies. Serve as a trusted communications strategist for brands. Develop and maintain an understanding of the media community, including emerging and evolving earned media dynamics.
Provide counsel for brand influencer marketing strategies including best practice for brand strategies, provide guidance for program management.
Contribute to issues mitigation processes with agency and brand to protect brand reputation.
Work closely with the other corporate functions (corporate media relations; external affairs; shopper marketing; legal) as appropriate to ensure program integration and multi-brand/corporate opportunities are maximized and brand reputations are maintained.
Partnership and development of comms messaging (internal and external) as it relates to earned media opportunities
Oversee development of earned media strategies and plans; work with Brand teams to deliver outstanding and innovative brand PR programs that maximize brand exposure, strengthen brand equity and align with the brand marketing objectives and strategies.
Build strong relationships with brand teams to integrate earned media holistically throughout marketing plans.
Partner closely with paid media counterparts to ensure programs harness the power of paid and earned media
Manage, develop and oversee agency relationships to facilitate excellence in PR, Influencer Marketing, Experiential, etc.
Develop and share best practices including working to operationalize measurement and reporting of earned media in partnership with cross functional teams as well as other strategic initiatives that help to build the organization’s understanding of and value of earned media and its ability to contribute to business goals.
Coordinate brand participation in category scale activities for US with US brand PR team and local agency, as well as other local PR outreach and Influencer programs
What You’ll Need To Succeed
Bachelor’s degree required
6+ years of relevant Public Relations and influencer experience
Food & beverage, as well as general CPG Industry experience preferred; candidate will support a number of Unilever’s brands across the U.S. portfolio in the ice cream business unit
Pay: The pay range for this position is $96,000 – $143,900. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
