The RN Special Procedures Nurses supports Interventional Radiology – Angiography, assisting a Physician or Physician Assistant, in over 60 different procedures.
Full-Time benefited position scheduled 40 hours per week. Day shift, No Weekends, No Holidays.
Call coverage is mandatory. Average call requirement is 3 weeknight shifts per month and weekend coverage once every 7th weekend divided between Neuro intervention and Angiography. The callback requirement for Neuro Intervention is 40 minutes and Angiography is 60 minutes.
We operate weekdays from 6:30 am -5:30 pm . We offer a variety of full and part-time positions with a mix of 8 and 10-hour shifts. Assignments are a 1:1 patient to nurse ratio.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Nurses’ responsibility is to monitor and possibly sedate the patient, chart the entire case, and educate the patient on discharge instructions. The Nurse must ensure that the patient has been prepped appropriately for their procedure by assessing patient’s allergies, medications, lab values and giving pre procedure medications as appropriate such as antibiotics. BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) are requirements. Nurses with ICU (Intensive Care Unit) or ER (Emergency Room) experience is preferred. Nurses will rotate through all radiology modalities including Angiography, Neuro Intervention, MRI, CT, X-ray and Ultrasound. Call coverage is mandatory. Graduation from accredited nursing program: Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire.
