Trek is looking for a technically strong, analytical, self-motivated, detail focused individual to fill a key seat on our growing Retail Finance team. The Retail Accountant will report directly to the Retail Accounting Manager located in Waterloo, WI.
This position will require you to engage & partner with a variety of teams to drive change within our retail operation. Huge opportunity to learn & develop at a great company. Candidate should have a high level of curiosity & be hungry to get their hands into the details.
Perform daily tasks to ensure accurate and timely accounting for our direct retail store operation
Core areas of the operation being Cash, Inventory, and Accounts Payable
Identify store transactional errors and “own the problem through resolution” for our stores
Communicate system or process improvement opportunities to enhance internal controls
Team-driven, willingness to help others in order to deliver month-end close by the deadline
Execute weekly, monthly account reconciliations to maintain balance sheet integrity
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
1+ year of corporate accounting experience
1+ year of public accounting experience preferred; not required
CPA preferred; not required
Proven track record of ‘hitting the deadline’!
Exhibit competence in all aspects of general ledger accounting
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Excel
