The Steamboat Finance Team is looking for a new Staff Accountant to join it’s growing team. You will assist in the daily operations of the Central Reservations department and resort by ensuring accurate daily reservation sales. This position requires strong communication skill and the ability to teach and enforce our company and department related policies as well as posting applicable daily revenue entries. Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:
Responsible for the accounting of reservation sales and verifying complete and accurate reporting of revenue, receipts, comps, etc.
Monitor and process guest/vendor/travel agent payables according to payment schedules
Ensure payments from guests and to vendors in the reservation system are accurate
Assist call center supervisors and agents with specific reservation questions, policies, and procedures
Assist in communicating, teaching, and enforcing related company and department policies
Act as a Customer Service Representative to assist with the resolution of client’s concerns as needed throughout the reservation process
Set up Travel Agent vendors in our reservation system (Inntopia)
Cross train with co-workers to reconcile/prepare vendors, insurance, & ARC reports for payment from reservations
Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
Other duties, as assigned
Minimum skills, experience, education, and ability required for this job:
High school graduate or GED required
Two years of related experience or education preferred
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and excel spreadsheet applications preferred
Ticket Office / Inntopia / RTP experience preferred
Concept of travel industry and/or reservations helpful
Good math aptitude and strong organizational and problem-solving skills required
Demonstrates the ability to follow instruction, maintain a high level of organization, and clear communication across a wide variety of stakeholders
Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers, and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company’s Service Excellence standards
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift to 30 lbs
Must be at least 18 years of age
Communicate clearly in English, both verbal / non-verbal, and written
Miscellaneous information:
Must be willing to work flexible schedule to accomplish all requirements and tasks
This is an hourly position and is subject to overtime pay
Position requires working weekends and holidays as needed

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Steamboat area base hourly pay range: $21.00 – $24.00 per hour
