Thompson Accounting Looking for Staff Accountant at Redwood City, CA Full Time

Job Description –

This position can be structured to be part-time or full-time, depending on the candidate and how their skillset aligns with the needs of the firm.

The ideal candidate will have:

· 5-10 years of prior accounting experience.

· a high level of proficiency in working with financial statements

· extensive tax experience with preparing and reviewing partnership, corporate and complex individual returns

· strong working knowledge of QuickBooks

· a proficiency with Excel and Word

· should be very personable with good communication skills

· should be dependable and prompt

· must answer complex accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data and communicating the findings with the client

· prior experience with forensic accounting a plus but not a requirement

We are a progressive firm transitioning to a paperless environment so we are looking for a person competent in working with documents that have been scanned into our system.

Thompson Accounting is a respected Forensic Accounting firm in San Jose, California with decades of successful client representation. Our clients primarily consist of divorce and civil litigation cases.

We offer very flexible work schedules and support work/life balance. Our hours are generally 8am – 4pm Monday through Thursday. Our physical office is closed on Fridays with our team having the ability to work from home. We allow remote work but require at least 2 days in the office. Medical benefits, vacation, and other perquisites are negotiable.

Thompson Accounting is conveniently located one mile south of Santana Row and Valley Fair Shopping Mall and two miles north of downtown San Jose. Our location has very easy access to Highway 280, Highway 880 and Highway 87.
