The Life Sciences Group within the Life Sciences and Laboratory Products Group within Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Senior Manager, Finance to serve as a key matter expert for Planning and Forecasting in Carlsbad, Ca. The Senior Manager, Finance will partner with a diverse set of finance teams to facilitate, improve, and support the planning, forecasting, and reporting processes for the Life Sciences finance teams (LSLPG, BPG and GSG). The ideal candidate possesses a blend of technical and functional skills, understands how planning functionality supports business process and considers data a key strategic asset.
What you will do:
Act as Hyperion super user for the finance user community in all facets of the planning environment.
Drive implementation and standardization of tools, processes, and reporting solutions that facilitate key business insights across the groups through collaborative partnerships with Commercial, Business Unit, Divisional and Corporate FP&A teams.
Partner with Group Functions and Corporate Systems team to deliver on the Group strategic roadmap by developing and implementing new functionality, including system hierarchy and metadata.
Champion user competency and adoption of new tools and techniques to ensure that solutions are consistently implemented into all levels of the finance organization through training, onboarding and user engagement.
Investigate, analyze and partner with Corporate to solve technical system issues
Support overall data strategy of centralization, consistency, automation and visualization.
How will you get here:
Education
Bachelors’ degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with experience in financial systems, computing, and/or data sciences preferred.
Equivalent years of professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Experience
5+ years in Finance, Accounting, or IT at a large company.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Extensive experience with Hyperion Planning and EPBCS (Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service). Experience with other EPM tools considered a plus.
Deep understanding of the budgeting/forecasting process and associated key performance indicators
Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements while working as a liaison between business and technical teams
Organized, meticulous, self-starter with a strong sense of ownership
Excellent interpersonal skills; effective verbal & written communication.
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the accuracy of information
The salary range estimated for this position is $150,000 – $160,000. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
