Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Finance/Controller is responsible for the SPCO’s accounting, financial reporting, and internal control and compliance activities. The Director of Finance ensures timely completion of the annual financial statements and audit, IRS Form 990 and other tax filings; is responsible for the delivery of accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports to management, the Board of Directors, grantors, and other interested parties; organizes and controls the monthly financial close process, including the daily activities of general ledger accounting, fund accounting, receipts and accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll accounting and tax reporting. The Director of Finance facilitates continuous improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of operations and maintains adequate internal controls for the safeguarding of SPCO’s assets, conducts research, provides financial accounting guidance to the broader organization, and manages and develops supporting staff. This position supports the CFO by coordinating Finance and Investment Committee meetings and providing support for budgeting and forecasting.
