Summary:
Assists in managing Branch staff by recommending/implementing work schedules, assigning/monitoring work, monitoring overtime, and ensuring that staff work hours are accurately recorded in the timekeeping system.
Education / Experience:
A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
Notary Public license preferred. Minimum of 3 year Branch experience and knowledge of Teachers systems, products, services, policies, procedures, protocols and applicable laws/regulations, lending requirements, Branch jobs/machines/equipment and Microsoft Word and Excel required. Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, management, mathematical, problem solving, multitasking and computer skills, detail orientation and the ability to maintain confidentiality also required.
Job Responsibilities:
Inspects the Branch facility each morning and checks supplies, contacts the Facilities Department to initiate immediate repairs as directed, and prepares maintenance and supply reports.
Reviews loan applications and related documentation to ensure they are accurate and complete, and as appropriate, approves loans within prescribed dollar limits and secures approval for those above limits. Approves wire transfers and notarizes documents.
Implements special promotions by setting up displays, ensuring literature/brochures/ marketing materials are on hand and accessible to members, ensuring staff are aware of the programs, and tracking/reporting on achievement.
Reviews suspicious account activity and investigates potential fraud by reviewing account transactions, examining checks, matching signatures, writing fraud tickets and determining if there is just cause for submission, and providing assistance to the Fraud Department.
Participates in community relations activities by attending civic and Chamber of Commerce meetings, street fairs, and visiting local schools/businesses to promote Teachers membership.
Investigates ATM deposit issues, prepares/mails ATM correction letters to members as necessary. Contacts vendors for ATM and other Branch equipment repairs.
Reviews/originates mortgage applications as assigned, ensures all required documentation is collected and forwarded to the Mortgage Department, follows up to resolve problems and keeps members informed.
Cross-sells Teachers products/services by advising members of their benefits, features, and rates, acting as a sales leader to promote staff’s cross-selling activities, tracking achievement against sales goals, and providing training on sales techniques.
Secures the Branch at the end of the day, inventories debit cards and negotiable items, ensures paperwork is filed/prepared for shipment to the Home Office, files and building are locked, ATMs are stocked, and alarms are set.
Keeps abreast of and complies with Teachers policies, procedures, guidelines and related laws/regulations, and ensures that staff comply. Ensures Branch security procedures are in placed and keeps staff aware, maintains phone contact list and ensures relate forms are available.
Keeps the Financial Services Manager informed of activities, conditions and issues, and assumes the responsibilities of the Manager in his/her absence. Prepares a variety of periodic and ad hoc Branch performance reports (e.g., platform evaluation scores, loan activity, negative balance, etc.)
