Description:
This position plays a pivotal role in the strategy and financial planning for direct to customer and Linear Marketing and will work closely with key stakeholders across Marketing, Finance, and Content Planning to help execute on direct to customer financial goals.
The role will be focused on marketing spend and will be responsible for compiling marketing forecasts and tracking actual spend with a high degree of focus on marketing efficiency as it relates to acquiring subscribers.
Forecasts and reporting responsibilities will aim to provide operational teams and executive management a snapshot into expected marketing spend and will also serve as the basis for ad hoc scenario analysis.
The pace and cadence for change at Client necessitates an ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and roll up their sleeves to support this important segment of The Client Company.
Build and track marketing budgets through short-term and long-term planning cycles (e.g. Forecasts, Annual Operating Plans, 5 Year Plan), as well as ad-hoc analyses, including special projects at the request of senior management
Collaborate directly with domestic marketing departments to create forecasts and provide operational finance support
Work with cross-functional teams to consistently identify and improve operational efficiencies across both finance and operational departments, particularly as it relates to quarterly close, budgeting and reporting
Collaborate with marketing finance across all direct to customer and Linear services on various analyses to identify efficiencies within the marketing budgets and provide strategic direction
Develop impactful, compelling presentation materials (PowerPoint decks, notes, write-ups, backup materials, etc.) that effectively communicate financial projections, drivers, business performance, risks and opportunities for different audiences, usually including executive management, to help inform decision-making
Coordinate with international regions to oversee and communicate consolidated international marketing forecasts and trends
Effectively track variances across forecasts and keep leaders well-informed of these expected variances over time
Basic Qualifications:
2-5 years of finance-related work experience, preferably within Media/Entertainment, Technology, Startup environment, or Investment Banking
Expert Excel skills; strong financial modeling and analytical abilities
Deliverable-focused, strong work ethic, able to prioritize, and resolve an array of issues simultaneously
High tolerance for ambiguity and working in a matrixed organization
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the streaming industry a plus
Basic understanding of accounting principles a plus
Required Education:
