Summary of Job Purpose:
The Manager, Commercial Finance (Merchandising) supports the success of Sysco’s commercial functions, including merchandising, category management and sourcing activities. This role will leverage data and analytics across various platforms to help streamline financial reporting versus plan and forecast, develop and share insights into sales and gross profit improvements, and help to identify cross functional opportunities to drive profitable growth across the enterprise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads discussion concerning regular process tracking, standardized KPIs, and team and executive dashboards.
Support PGM (Partnership Growth Management) tracking; Leads and is accountable for forecasts based on current category pipeline, historical volume, mix and rate trends as well as key external data.
Understands key metrics to include outside data, year over year performance and run rates in relationship to overall company goals with a merchandising perspective.
Interprets and harnesses data insights to provide feedback to team, and align priorities on focus areas
Proactively identifies opportunities to improve strategic initiatives, and constantly provides critical feedback to cross functional leadership
Influential in senior leadership discussions to ensure we are positioning Sysco to meet and exceed planned objectives
Manages Merchandising monthly/quarterly business review process
Manage Merchandising AOP and budgeting process
Perform Ad-hoc analytics and financial decision support
Required Minimum Education/Experience:
MBA or, an equivalent combination of education and experience (5+ years) sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job
Minimum at least 5 years of work experience in a corporate setting, with emphasis on areas such as financial planning and analysis, business analytics, financial modeling, and performance management.
Strong Commercial focus, with exposure to multiple business/functions and excellent business partnering skills

Abilities and Skills:
Quantitative problem solver; analytical thinker who can draw conclusions from multiple data sources
Strong written and oral communication skills; polished presentation skills in front of an executive audience
Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to create alignment across multiple stakeholders to help achieve goals. Able to assist Business Leaders in developing Strategy and Tactics to drive performance.

Speaks and acts with complete honesty and trustworthiness
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data connections, macros, and automation)
Advanced Powerpoint skills (e.g., ability to create and manipulate decks, add charts and other visuals)
Proficiency in database access and reporting; Experience in SQL, Tableau, 1010Data, SAS, R or other relevant data mining software preferred
Able to deploy Finance best practices across the organization

Work Environment:
This position can be performed from the Corporate facility.
Must be able to do limited travel to Sysco facilities or operating companies.
