Accounts Payable Associate
FLSA Class: NON-EXEMPT
General Overview: Receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices. Managing vendor accounts.
Responsibilities:
Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoices and recording entries.
Processing accounts payable using accounting software and other programs.
Handling accounts payable for separate entities/companies and vendors.
Analyzing workflow processes and problem solving roadblocks.
Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Maintains historical records. Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors.
Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges.
Assist AP Manager, Accountants and Auditors in preparing requested documentation.
Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent
Should be able to work out numbers, generate reports and find discrepancies as well as cost-saving opportunities.
Basic data entry skills.
Comfortable with math and calculations.
Good listening and communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
Previous work-related skill, knowledge or experience is preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems helpful, but not required.
Recognizes confidential information and maintains it in accordance with standard procedures.
Background check and pre-employment drug testing will be required of all candidates considered for this position.

Strong physical and mental health to maintain demanding workload.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats when needed.
Able to work under stressful conditions at times.

Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships and maintain them over time.
Strong work ethics of integrity and honesty strives for excellence in all activities employing accompanying communication.
