The Division of Child Protection Services is looking to recruit a proficient and customer focused professional in the area of general administration.
The desired candidate will possess a commitment to service; rigorous attention to detail; and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
The primary duties associated with the position include:
providing direct assistance to Adoption Program Specialist and Adoption Field Staff; tracking and assisting with adoption legal paperwork assisting Division Director, Deputy Director and Program Specialist with special projects; handling and routing incoming and outgoing mail; generating and maintaining electronic files and databases; typing various letters, reports and forms; generating vouchers to pay different types of expenses; working with placement resources to gather and input bank information for direct deposit as well as overseeing the direct deposit process; providing support to professional staff.
Successful applicants will work in an office setting Monday through Friday 8:

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
business letter writing; business English, grammar, and punctuation; operation of modern office equipment; computer software applications; concepts related to client confidentiality and professional and ethical behavior.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
communicate effectively; concisely provide information, explanations, and instructions; elicit information from others with varying levels of ability to understand; maintain a positive, customer-service oriented manner when dealing with customers, division and department staff, and other departments and agencies in person, over the telephone or through email; obtain and provide information by phone in a clear and courteous manner; maintain effective and collaborative working relationships and demonstrate compassion, empathy, respect, courtesy, and tact when interacting with others; maintain composure, efficiency during periods of peak workload and with frequent interruptions; organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines and follow-up with minimal direction; operate office equipment such as a copier, fax machine, and calculator; enter and retrieve data from computer systems.
This position is eligible for Veterans’ Preference per ARSD 55:
