1st Financial Bank USA (1FBUSA), focuses on establishing and maintaining credit card relationships on a nationwide basis to the U.S. college and graduate student market and is currently hiring for an Assistant Vice President/Vice President – Finance. This position offers a hybrid work schedule or a FT office schedule.

Job Overview:

The Assistant Vice President/Vice President of Finance is responsible for making ongoing contributions toward the continued safety and soundness of the Bank, and proactively identifying opportunities and risks to the Income Statement and Balance Sheet. Responsibilities include providing proactive and accurate financial information, analysis and tools to both internal and external customers, and creating and maintaining a strong Finance department, which is the focal point for establishing and achieving the Bank’s financial objectives. This position is very detailed and hands-on and not limited to top-level review.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Make positive and proactive contributions toward bank safety and soundness.
• Ensure that accounting methods are within GAAP standards.
• Contribute toward meeting objectives of the CAMELS standards.
• Provide and supervise the use of financial reporting systems and other tools for efficient reporting, analysis and budgeting.
• Proactively identify opportunities and risks to the Income Statement and Balance Sheet; utilize financial tools and department knowledge to identify revenue and expense improvements.
• Provide accurate financial data and fully developed financial reporting processes and tools to enable informed business decisions and better management of SBUs.
• Create and maintain audit controls, effective training, and reconciling systems to ensure integrity of financial data. Monitor for GAAP and regulatory-required changes impacting the Bank’s accounting and reporting. Develop a detailed understanding required to document and assist department personnel in implementing the changes and required controls.
• Act as department liaison to support new products/processes and modifications of existing products/processes, ensuring that the accounting and reporting required by Finance is established proactively.
• Serve as point for the annual financial statements audit by third-party independent audits including, coordination/preparation of PBC items, financial statements and footnotes.
• Coordinate or develop finance-provided required documents for examinations.
• Prepare detailed reporting for board of directors.
• Ensure compliance with affiliate agreements, including oversight of monthly settlements, compliance with existing agreements, and recommendation/justification for amendments to the agreements.
• Provide availability to finance team members for business and professional guidance.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, CPA preferred.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in a public accounting firm and/or a bank.

Language/Reasoning/Mathematical or other specific skills: Strong mathematical and computer skills required. Must be able to tolerate stress.
