Finance Manager Responsibilities:
This position s to the CFO and is responsible for providing financial measurement and analysis to support corporate goals and accomplishments in accordance with the Credit Union’s Strategic Financial Plan.
Position supports the CFO and assists in the overall coordination of Asset Liability Management activities including all treasury and investment functions.
Manages annual budget/financial plan, product and member viability and profitability. In addition, this position supports the various divisions by providing ing, tracking, analysis, and guidance.
Finance Manager Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting and/or at least seven years related experience and/or training. Advanced degree (MBA) or CFA certification preferred.
Strong working knowledge of the rules and regulations of the credit union industry.
Understand the financial implications of a credit union’s operations.
Ability to spot financial weaknesses in a credit union’s operations and make suggestions to correct those weaknesses.
Ability to spot areas of financial opportunity and make suggestions to take advantage of those opportunities.
Ability to clearly explain the rationale for financial decisions.
Analytical skills to include the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to work with advanced mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Computer fluency in standard spreadsheet and word processing applications.
Ability to interpret and utilize job specific computer applications such as Asset Liability, General Ledger, Budgeting and other sophisticated financial modules.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills which include the ability to write speeches/articles for publication and effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.
Well-developed interpersonal skills for educating, managing and relating to Associates and/or board members.
