Overview
Exovera is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to enable our growing business. The position is hybrid with expectations of sharing office time in either the Reston and/or Vienna office 2 days per week. The range of responsibilities include routine program control/financial support while at the same time, providing business units insight as support to guide current and future decision making to grow the work. The successful candidate will bring experience navigating major programs, complex financial assignments, project startup initiatives, as well as return to green like efforts. Financial assignments require the ability to connect and engage across a variety of functional departments using an entrepreneurial approach. This position will have access to and visibility with the C-suite and board members. The ability to demonstrate financial acumen clearly and concisely using all mediums of communication is a must.
The successful candidate is a self-starter, who brings a solid understanding of the government and/or commercial space motivated by the opportunity to grow the work and demonstrate thought leadership.
Responsibilities
Manage Assigned On-Contract Programs: Manage EAC level requirements for assigned contracts; be a business manager
Developing and maintaining full financial forecasts across all cost and contract types for assigned programs (primarily FFP)
Communicating and notifying limitation of funding(s) in support of program and customer needs
Manage contract set up; communicating the concept/WBS in accordance with the contract & customer requirements, receiving team buy in and coordinating implementation
Own AR responsibilities for assigned contracts, ensuring timely invoice submittal & payment receipt
Controlling project charging; ensuring individuals and costs are charged appropriately and that EACs are updated as a result
Prepare program review presentations, both internal and external on weekly, monthly, etc cadences
Coordinate with PMs and Contracts in the identification of modifications, change orders and at-risk work
Support Business Operations: Business support in its indirect cost management and business acumen; a deputy to the VP
Act as deputy to the VP; anticipate and solution change, demonstrate thought leadership, manage business unit leadership expectations, and think as well as execute strategically
Be a business owner and thought leader; help drive best practices, supporting operational functions and guiding business success
Evaluate and maintain indirect cost amounts and projections across the various functions and cost types ensuring monthly accruals, updated cost assumptions are captured, depreciation / amortization schedules are accurate while providing management with appropriate insight
Monthly business / board review presentation development and presentation
Previous pricing experience: ability to coordinate BoE/LoE estimates across functional teams, evaluate RFPs and support proposal development and submittal
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a Business/Finance related field
Prior supervisory/management experience; minimum of at least five (5) years’ supervisory experience
Six (6) to eight (8) years of experience; Government Contracting experience required
At least 5 years’ experience partnering with functional groups, and advising C-Suite and board members
At least 5 years’ experience working with Costpoint and Cognos; TM1 experience preferred but not required
ability to apply understanding of indirect rate structures/pools/concepts
Ability to translate understanding and expertise of Finance into information used by stakeholders as evidence for decision making
Ability to gain stakeholders confidence with clear, concise verbal and written communications
Ability to perform root cause analysis, recommend and execute action plans
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced knowledge of Excel (no Macro’s or VBA experience required)
Familiarity with and ability to apply understanding of CAS, GAAP, FAR, DFARs, and JTR
Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively across the enterprise and with functional areas
Will work with and appreciative of geographically dispersed stakeholders
