Position Summary
The Sr. Financial Analyst will support our DTC NativeTuft & Needle® brand. This person coordinates and supports new product initiatives, provides financial reporting of new products post-launch, performs data driven analysis and identifies insights to improve decision-making on new products and brand specific initiatives to grow sales and profit. This role will have detailed exposure to the entire P&L for DTC, Brands and specific products and will work hand in hand with cross-functional teams such as R&D, Marketing and Supply Chain.
The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key member of the DTC organization. The role provides financial support for our DTC business and is responsible for forecasting, reporting, and strategic analysis of the DTC business, including owned dotcoms and retail stores. Candidate will be expected deliver high-impact financial modeling and analysis and be well-versed in the creation of dynamic financial models, Scenario analysis, and Sensitivity analysis.
This role will support various members of the Brand management team. You will be responsible for providing accurate and timely analysis, reports, and insights. The role includes annual business planning, monthly forecasting, budget tracking, month-end close reporting, and monitoring and supporting the business via financial analysis. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast pace and agile environment.
What You’ll Do:
Execute Weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews of DTC/brand financial performance
Analyze channel/brand performance variances vs. budget/forecast and underlying business trends
Prepare timely and insightful commentary on brand financial performance
Partner with key stakeholders to understand brand results and recommend actions to improve performance
Build financial models to improve business understanding and decision making
Provide data-driven analyses to support decision making and to assess business outcomes. Create standard and ad hoc reports to effectively communicate brand business performance
Assist in finding growth and/or cost reduction opportunities to improve brand performance and profitability
Help evaluate the financial viability of new ideas/innovation by analyzing opportunities, risks, strengths, and weaknesses of new innovations/technologies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to formulate estimates and understand drivers of profit margins
Develop standard and ad hoc reports to track & monitor new product projects and associated activities to assess new product performance
Develop tracking and reporting of innovations approved and measure results/outcome. Initiate corrective measures in the event of deviations
Perform business and market analysis, build financial models to improve business understanding and support managerial decision making
Help prioritize projects for maximum return from limited resources
Help develop brand specific annual budget and forecast projections for sales and units with a mindset towards continuous improvement
Assist management with strategic planning, Board, and executive meeting preparations
Collaborate with accounting to ensure financial reporting integrity (Controllership of budget)
What You’ll Bring:
This is a remote work opportunity, with occasional in-office travel required
3-4 years of relevant financial experience in an E-Commerce Organization or Direct to Consumer Organization
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or area with an analytical focus, MBA preferred
Experience with financial analysis and modeling, brand experience preferred
Understanding of a P&L statement
Experience with consumer products, New product innovation management and Direct to Consumer a plus
Proficient in Hyperion Planning, MS Office, Power BI, and ERP applications
