What You’ll Do
Oversees and coordinates payroll administration in accordance with all agreements and compliance requirements to ensure associates are paid timely and accurately with appropriate deductions applied.
Develops, evaluates and maintains procedures for processing payroll to ensure detection of errors and compliance with the IRS, court orders, and generally accepted accounting procedures.
Administers executive payroll including payroll taxes, general ledger journal entries, and regulatory compliance activities.
Maintains audit procedures and participates in pre- and post- payroll auditing and troubleshooting to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
Manages and provides guidance in the recording, monitoring and reporting of all payrolls related accountings including salary expenses and withholding for taxes, benefits, retirement contributions, and garnishment payments.
Maintains the Sentry travel expense policy and oversees the approvals for the travel expense reporting process.
Additional Responsibilities
Oversees all payroll issues, including researching and resolving payroll problems, processing manual pay adjustments and answering payroll related questions.
Partners with Senior management and Human Resources to process special pay items, bonuses and relevant reports.
Administers Human Resource- related activities including timely performance and salary reviews and ensures all subordinates adhere to human resources policies and practices. Selects, develops, motivates, and recognizes staff.
Works with internal and external auditors during audit process to provide documents, reports, and other payroll related credentials upon request. Evaluates and implements procedural changes recommended by auditors.
Maintains procedures to ensure adequate documentation of payroll exceptions to ensure compliance.
Interprets new legislation impacting payroll and adheres to payroll best practices for the organization.
Conduct review and analysis of current payroll, benefits, and tax procedures to recommend and implement process improvements.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned from time to time.
What it Takes
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in related field.
Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all company pay and benefit data.
Customer service mindset and comfort in handling high-level executive inquiries.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, communicate effectively, and remain organized.
Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to meet specific deadlines.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
