Job Purpose Summary

Work with a cross-functional team to develop, test and implement new products and improve upon existing menu items. Manage development of test and celebration in-restaurant merchandising in conjunction with Rubio’s merchandising agency.

Essential Job Duties

• Work with product marketing director to develop menu strategy for Rubio’s core menu and Rubio’s catering menu.
• Support product development efforts to improve existing products and introduce new products by ensuring strong brand fit/business need, providing pricing, conducting customer research, developing, and evaluating tests, and recommending go/no go actions.
• Responsible for leading cross-functional Celebration team and creating Celebration documents including the IT change requests and training packets
• Support packaging development efforts to introduce new packaging or make changes to existing packaging.
• Work in conjunction with merchandising agency to bring new product positioning to life by developing the Celebration merchandising creative brief and managing test and Celebration product photo shoots
• Manage product vendor marketing relationships and implement promotional opportunities
• Budget tracking of menu initiatives

Job Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, advertising, or business administration or equivalent experience required.

Experience: 5-7 years of experience in marketing, public relations, advertising, or a similar role. Product development experience in the restaurant or CPG industry preferred. Project management experience preferred.

Knowledge: Strong grasp of marketing, product development and merchandising best practices.

Language Skills: Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

Other Skills: MS Office, some (limited) design experience. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret sales and marketing reports and publications.

Other Abilities: Capable of efficiently and accurately working with deadlines. High level of organization and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to the Marketing Director – Product Marketing

Major Business/Professional Contacts

Strong working relationship with other marketing team members, culinary, operations, supply chain, IT and finance. Working relationship with our merchandising agency and photography studio

Working and Environmental Conditions
Typically functions in an office environment, hybrid schedule at this time and 9/80 schedules available.

Physical Demands

Requires sitting for extended periods of time. Requires extended time in front of a computer.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
