VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE – Well Respected Private Equity Backed Manufacturer
My client, a well-respected private-equity backed manufacturer based in Lawrenceville, is searching for a Vice President of Finance to join their team for an immediate, direct-hire opportunity. The Vice President of Finance will be responsible for overseeing the Accounting team, ensuring all accounting is within GAAP. Additionally, the VP of Finance will oversee all cost accounting, sales tax, internal controls, timely month-end close, and produce monthly financial statements. This role also leads the development of financial strategy, planning, projections, and budgets that focus on long-term fiscal sustainability. The VP of Finance will lead the development of policies and procedures to govern financial decision-making, including forecasts, expense management, and capital spending to ensure the achievement of financial objectives.
Develop and execute financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Provide strategic financial analysis and guidance to support decision-making by the executive team and other departments.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the financial health and performance of the organization.
Prepare and present regular financial reports to the executive team and board of directors.
Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and regulations.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors for financial audits.
Oversee cash flow planning and management.
Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
Implement strategies to optimize the organization’s working capital.
Identify and assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Implement internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets.
Stay informed about changes in financial regulations and ensure compliance.
Evaluate and recommend capital structure decisions.
Oversee the issuance of debt or equity as needed.
Manage relationships with investors and stakeholders.
Evaluate, implement, and manage financial systems and technologies to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Stay current with advancements in financial technology.
Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, including controllers, financial analysts, and other staff.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance department.
Collaborate with the executive team in the development and execution of the organization’s overall strategic plan.
Provide financial insights to support long-term strategic initiatives.
Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships.
Lead financial due diligence processes.
Ensure compliance with financial laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Promote a culture of integrity and ethical behavior within the finance department.
Requirements
A Bachelo’s degree in accounting or finance is required; an MBA is strongly preferred.
CPA certification preferred.
8+ years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience is required.
4+ years managing a team of direct reports; proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
Manufacturing industry experience required.
QuickBooks experience is preferred.
Thorough understanding of GAAP, internal controls, operational risk assessment, and financial reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate issues, identify and provide sound guidance for resolution.
Expert level of proficiency in Excel required.
Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
Proven ability to manage projects, allocate resources, and collaborate across disciplines and locations.
Self-motivated and independent, detail-oriented, strong work ethic, and high integrity and ethical standards.
